Monsters
To me, the word monster revolves around fear. When you think of a monster you think of something that is big and scary and unstoppable. Science fiction monsters such as Godzilla or the kraken are a few that come to mind. However not all monsters are large, and the word monster can have many different definitions. Monsters come in all shapes and sizes. Monsters can range from large terrifying animals to humans. I do believe monsters exist, but not monsters such as Godzilla or vampires. In my opinion monsters take the form of humans in this day and age. The criminals who commit mass murder and terrorist and other extreme acts are the true monsters. Those are the people who make people fear going certain places. Kids don’t feel safe at school people don’t feel safe traveling. The people who set off bombs in town markets or shoot and kill many innocent people are monster. For me to believe that science fiction monsters then I’d have to see living proof. I would need to see factual evidence of such monsters existing. In order for me to believe that scientific monsters truly existed I would need to data, analysis, and media coverage. Everyone knows the media would display everywhere the discovery of one of these scientific monsters. I must admit though, I am torn on the topic of zombies. Zombies may be real based on the fact that they’re a result of a neurological disease. ‘It's theoretically possible—though extremely difficult—to create a hybrid rabies-influenza virus using modern genetic-engineering techniques, the University of Miami's Andreansky said.” (Kahn 2010) Until that happens the only form of monsters I believe exist are the ones who commit extremely inhuman acts such as bombings and mass shootings.
