Evolution and Climate Change in the Oceans
The range is the distribution of a species, or the geographic area within which a species is found in nature.
With respect to climate change, numerous scientists have shown that species are tending to expand their geographic ranges poleward to escape increasing, unfavorable temperatures toward the Equator.
Here is an example: the Florida panther's historic and present-day geographic range.

while i love references to the florida panther, this seems like an unrelated example of a species' geographic range since the range of this subspecies is confounded by near-extirpation followed by "genetic rescue" through the addition of texas cougars. maybe something on geographic range that is expanding northward, a good example is work by Mike Dawson on the barnacle Tetraclita, it has expanded ~150-200km in the past few decades and they document this in a 2010 paper in Molecular Ecology.
