
The range is the distribution of a species, or the geographic area within which a species is found in nature.
With respect to climate change, numerous scientists are showing that species are tending to expand their geographic ranges poleward to escape increasing, unfavorable temperatures toward the Equator.
Here is an example: the Florida panther's historic and present-day geographic range.
